As such, the Pelican in Her Piety has been a symbol of maternal love for centuries. The piece is cast in solid sterling silver and gilded in 24 karat gold. It is set with faceted and cabochon garnets and a baroque pearl. The pendant measures 2.75 inches (70 mm).
